South Seas Pearls
The South Sea pearls are considered to be the most beautiful and rarest pearls in the world, not only due to their sizes, but also because of their colors and natural luster. They come from the Pinctada Maxima oyster, and are cultivated in the South seas of Asia. This zone ranges from the coast of North western Australia, to Indonesia, The Philippines and the shore of Myanmar ( Burma ). The Pinctada Maxima oyster is separated intotwo races, the ”Silver Lip” oyster that thrives off the coast of Northern Australia and the ”Gold Lip” oyster that can be found 8mm up to 21mm the largest ones, with an average size of 12mm. read more…
